WHICH TYPE OF WORLD DO WE WANT TO LIVE IN?

Years ago, when we moved to the US, to be precise Wisconsin, I was surprised by how many hours of sunshine there are. Many winter days are cold, I mean cold like minus 20 degrees, take your pick Fahrenheit or Celsius, that’s cold enough for anybody to endure. Many of these days are clear, without a cloud in the sky.

A solar system would produce a lot of power on these ideal days, the cold only affects us and the animals. All the solar panels want is sunlight, warm or cold doesn’t matter. A solar panel on a clear day in Siberia would produce a similar amount of electricity as a solar panel in the Sahara.

I watch TV debates with our politicians regarding alternative energies. Some are all for it right now, others have agreed on target dates that by 2,000 whatever, they will reduce carbon emissions by X percent, others like this President wants to scale down the solid fuels and scale up alternative energies.

I’m not wrapped up with all those political arguments, only because I don’t consider myself a Democrat nor a Republican neither a Liberal, or even interested in all those labels, in other words, I believe in fair trading, that every citizen should have the right to vote regardless their race, religion or gender, and the right to free speech as long as it does not offend large percentages of the population, or disturbs the peace. Enough about politics, which to me means legalized corruption. (at least in the present politics)

To those that believe in setting long-range targets to reduce carbon emissions by X% by 2030, or in the next 15 years or whatever. I find this logic to be a let us get a happy medium to please the ones that are still too slow to come to grips that we are walking on a very thin rope and the ones that went overboard and are panicking and want things done like yesterday.

All these arguments are baffling and I ask myself, are these politicians making a deal also with the Universe to allow us the time agreed on those dates, so we can get our house in order? It doesn’t make sense at all. We keep on being ignorant for money’s sake (that’s the only reason why we are still debating this) protecting the few that work in solid fuel industries at the expense of the rest of the population.

The ones that want things done right now, well, the train just cannot be stopped suddenly. We’ve been wrecking our planet for decades with solid fuels, at the beginning of the oil and cold rush, we did not know how harmful they were. Science is always progressing and when scientists started telling us. Hey! we are destroying our atmosphere with all these carbon emissions that we are producing. Money, came again into play, the investors, the workers, and the crooked politicians argued the point, brainwashing the uncultured, because they have the loudest mouth, that everything is alright, and there’s no concrete evidence, so we carried on happily destroying ourselves, only because we built a very nice life standard around the solid fuel industries. So, why change it now? Only because some guy went to the South Pole and is trying to tell us that there’s a hole somewhere up there. What a crazy idea!

As mentioned above, I have no allegiance to any politics but do sincerely believe that what President Biden is trying to do is the only way. Fade out slowly the harmful industries and slowly build up the clean industries. It might seem that he is trying to rush the clean energies too fast. What makes people think that? Alternative energies were non-existent til recently so they have a lot of catching up to do.  Isn’t it funny that the countries with the most educated populations are the ones investing the most in solar or wind? That means most of Europe, mainly Scandinavian countries, but above all Denmark.

Why is the rest of the World not following what Science has been telling us? It boils down to money and crooked politicians again. Sad but a reality. When you vote next time think about which type of World do you want your kids to live in.

This is an image that Voyager took from outer-space millions of miles away. The arrow that you see is pointing to where we live, our home, our planet Earth, which you cannot see.

Note that pinkish stripe-like where the Earth is, that’s only visible from that far away. That is our atmosphere, you might call it the spacial corridor where we travel in. That is what protects us from flying space debris like asteroids, (what we call shooting stars) also from excess solar rays hitting our planet. That corridor, if we can call it that, goes all the way around the Sun. We know now, that solid fuels are damaging that protection allowing extra sun rays to hit the earth warming everything up, hence the sporadic weather and violent storms.

We do not need to be Einstein to understand this equation;
We carry on burning solid fuels = continuing to damage our protective atmosphere = more Sun rays will squeeze through = impossible life conditions for all mammals.
It is that simple. Do you see Money anywhere in the equation? Or an inclination that the Sun will wait until we get ourselves sorted out? The Universal laws are simple but precise, they are implacable. There are no ifs and buts or negotiations. You mess around with them you pay the consequences. You can’t negotiate with the law of gravity, the centrifugal force, or the law of attraction.

Our lawmakers should give the green light to alternative energies for the protection of us all. And should be debating how to protect and help all those that lose their income, as solid fuel sources shut down. Help them financially for a period of time whilst they learn new skills, help them get new jobs. These new clean industries are needing people as they grow, so why not divert and re-educate a large proportion of those that lost their jobs into the new industries?

We are really in a very precarious position as a race, where there aren’t many choices. For the sake of a few jobs and the few that are filling their pockets, and the ones that have been brainwashed by the corrupt politicians that don’t want to change the “status quo”, do the rest of us have to pay the price? The irony of all this is that those doing the destructive jobs and the greedy ones, and the naysayers, are also in the same boat as the rest of us.
